Cross Training

I think it's funny for me to write about cross training before I've even really started training! Anyway, Sears had a big sale on their exercise equipment this weekend. We went there with every intention of buying a treadmill. Instead, we decided on an elliptical machine. We decided that we can run outside (why I got so many new running clothes for Christmas) and I can use the elliptical machine on the days I can't go outside.

I can't wait to try my new machine!!!

Angie,
You are doing so well. I love your new machine. I just sold my treadmill and we already miss it. It was a 220, so I didn't want to take it back to the States. I didn't use it much these days since I prefer to be outside or even at the gym on their treadmills, but it was really nice to know that it was here in a pinch and you know how much I used it during the deployment when T was younger. It was such a blessing when we had to deal with snow days. I also took advantage of it in the evenings after a long day of meetings and such and I didn't want to leave the boys again. I still wasn't really available to play, but at least I was home and they could talk to me. Now, I want to see a picture of you on it.

I've come up with a training plan for myself, and it includes not increasing my distance until June. I'm going to stay at 4 miles for now and work on other stuff. So I'm giving you an assignment, or maybe a short-term goal. And you didn't even ask for a personal trainer! Build up to running 5 miles by the time I get to Kansas, then we can get on the same schedule. It'll be so much easier that way! What do you think? You can do it--that's only about 1 mile/month.
