Hi girls! I'm so excited - today's the day!! I prefer to register as an individual. So, I'm going to do it today. I would say that V's right - that hotel is perfectly situated (I used to live across the street from it). I'd also mention that the rooms book up FAST!!! I learned that lesson the hard way for the Marine Corps race - and ended up kinda far from the metro... So, book early!
For the first time in months, I had a good run on Saturday. It felt good being out there (the weather was really nice in NYC). I did 4.5 miles. I'm a little off my training plan and have to kick it up a notch to get myself ready for my first ten miler ever in Philly on May 6. But, I have to say, I was happy that I was enjoying running again... I really haven't since the 15k in Florida. It's felt like a burden.... It's funny how much of this sport is mental.
A few closing items: E - I'm not convinced that you weren't on candid camera or some equivalent - that race sounds RIDICULOUS!! I can't believe how mismanaged it was!! Tho, in Florida, my race had cardboard mile markers that had fallen down - so, you had no idea what mile you were at... tacky. Angie - your trainer sounds like a nice person, but a lousy trainer. You need to let her go. Or, when I come visit this weekend, you can take your obnoxious New Yorker sister-in-law to the gym with you, and I'll tell her what's what....

Cathy,
So glad to hear from you. I was getting worried. I am glad to hear you found your runners' high again.
