It sounds like most of us have worked through the idea of no music for the Army Ten Miler. It also sounds like most of us still want to run it. I have run a few races without music. I don't like it, but I know I can do it. This is one of those races that you really won't mind. There is SO much energy. There are spectators all along the route and usually the runners around you are whooping it up (sorry you didn't get that in Tampa, Cathy). There is so much to see while you run. The monuments are beautiful, but the people are quite entertaining as well. You will see costumes, American pride and lots of Unit/Group pride. People will wear something identifying themselves as part of a group or from a particular area/unit just to start conversation. It is fun to run along and spot someone from a place you have been as well. "Hey, I was stationed in Germany..." "When were you there... " "Do you know my friend..."
I was going to hold off on this discussion, but maybe we need it now. Registration starts in April. Christy asked if we are registering as a team or individuals. What do you think? Regardless, we have to have cool outfits. There are a lot of cool sites out there that will custom make tanks. Do we want to name our group?
By the way, I am already registered for the Rock and Roll Half in VA Beach (Sept 2) and anyone who wants to run with me (or party with me afterwards) is welcome. We will not be living on post, so I should have plenty of room.

What's the difference between doing it individually or as a group? I don't mind one way or the other. I'll follow the pack on this one!
My two cents is that it should be a group thing. After all, it seems like the group connection is why this site was started. The only thing...if we register as a group is it going to hinder those in the running for individual awards?
Regarding the name, it has to be funny and a cool at the same time. Maybe we need our own slogan, not just a name. The first thing that pops into my mind is the new Army slogan. "There's strong, and then there's Army strong." Only in the version "...and then there's Army wife strong." But, I am not sure if that fits everyone in our group. Some other brainstorming ideas that came out of my cranium were: all american, wonder women, girls day out, cantankerous, we run for the wine, girlfriends, and friendship. Please chime in.
