It's Here!

I have been on the wait list for the past three weeks for my new baby to arrive and it did a week early on Tuesday. It is one of the new magnetic spinners. This thing is awesome... silent, smooth and computerized so I can better track my workouts than a traditional spinning bike. It is also a commercial grade so it feels as nice (better) than the gym's spinning bikes. I now can get up and spin for an hour before getting Rylin up and going to the gym (also when she's sick and I can't take her). I thought getting up that hour earlier would be hard but so far I am like a kid the morning after Christmas. My workouts at the gym have gotten more challenging with the miles already on my legs but I am enjoying the challenge.

That's exactly why I bought a treadmill in GE. I bought it right before the guys left for Iraq. With kids at home (not to mention the weather), I needed a way to ensure that I could get my runs in. Of course, with everything that happened, I barely did the minimum to maintain, but I wouldn't have had that if I didn't have my treadmill.

I love to spin. I used to go to class once a week to crosstrain. With all this talk of tri's, maybe I will look around for a class again.

With all that training, maybe we should talk about food sometimes. I know I feel like I am eating all day, but with this training I have never been so hungry.

This bike looks AMAZING. Wow. The perils of living in NYC though - I have a 500 square foot rectangle apartment. NO SPACE for anything like this! But, my gym is right across the street. So, it's like having a gym in another room!!

And, I'm all for talking about food. I eat too much sh*t. Literally. There's no redeeming value in what I eat. And, that's got to change. Especially, since I've downloaded the NYCTri training programming. Dear God. It's a lot of work. I'm going to have to really start thinking about what I'm putting in my body to support this kind of training.

I think my plan is this. They really don't have you start hard core training til Dec 4. I think I'm going to take this time to develop some basic skilss in biking and swimming - but, really focus on food and core strength (which is a big part of tri prep - who knew? probably V did. V knows everything...!!!)
