Well, not really, but just because I am a civilian.
I had a great race this morning. The European Qualifier 10 Miler picks the European team to go to DC for the Army 10 Miler in October. This is the second time that I have run the qualifier. They take the top 8 active duty runners and 8 more alternates. The fastest female runner today was 65:48. Number 8 and the last team member came in at 84:54. The coolest thing was that there were 3 civilian women in the top 5 women overall! All three would have qualified for the team.
I am proud to say that I was one of those top civilian women. I placed 5th overall and 1st for my age group. I ran my fastest 10 miler ever with a 72:23.

Way to go! Sometimes we run our best races when we're rested and not stressing ahead of time. What a pleasant surprise!
Congratulations! Sounds like a fabulous day. FM remembers you "smokin" him when he ran the 10 miler back in...was it 2003? Or 2002?
Hi Patti,
It was 2003 and I don't remember "smoking" him. I took 2 minutes off my time from that year.
Miss you, V
Way to go! You are always such an inspiration for me. Especially since I'm such a newbe to running.
I did my 2 mile run around the golf course on Friday. Man, I am so sore! I did run most of the way but only because they were spraying for weeds and I could hardly breathe though that mess. I just wanted to get past it as fast as I could. YUCK!
Should I start a countdown ticker on this blog for the ATM race? I can't believe it's already June and the ATM is just around the corner.
Angie,
Keep at it. You are doing great. Before you know it, those 2 miles will turn into 3 and then 5 and so on. I love the ticker, it helps me out the door if I am procrastinating.
