My toe is okay. I have no idea what it looks like under my polish, but there is no more pain at least. I took all of last week off to give the toe time to recover and didn't run until yesterday. And, that run, my friends, was not pretty. I felt as if I looked like...yeah I have no idea how to even describe it, Quasimodoish maybe. There was so much fog that I could barely see 20 steps in front of me and I was covered in a layer of water after the first half mile...YUCK. I was trying out my new shoes for the first time and although my left foot faired fine, I got a blister on my right arch. And, my right knee screamed at me several times toward the end of my 3ish miles. I am not sure if I was overcompensating for the blister or the knee and causing the problem or if it was the shoes. Again, my left foot arrived home happy. Today my lungs feel all yucky; my non-professional opinion is that it is due to sucking in so much moisture yesterday.

Anyhow, I will do another 3-4 miles tomorrow and I will run a couple of days next week. Nothing long, I just want to work out the kinks. I feel more confident about actually finishing so I am not all that worried about getting in one last long run before the 8th. Plus, I have to work all weekend so I am not quite sure how I would fit it in anyhow. I will continue to break in the new shoes, but if it doesn't happen before I leave for DC, I am packing the ones that I have been doing my long runs in. I am thinking that the "old" shoes might not be such a bad idea anyhow. And, no they are not the ones that caused the toe trouble. (At least I don't think they are.)

Now, on to a totally different subject, this one because I always over pack. What are y'all planning to wear during the weekend? Or, what do you plan to pack? It's still in the 90s here with a cool off into the 80s, so I would love some sweatshirt weather. And, is there anything on the agenda to do other than go pick up our race information and the spaghetti dinner? I know E is planning a stop at Arlington and I am good with that. I'm up for just about anything.
