Hey all, just checking in. I have managed to not run at all for the past two weeks. I had two moles removed that required stitches and my doctor said that she did not want me running or lifting until she removed the little pieces of string. I was quite cranky and not very understanding about it since I had gotten myself into a good rhythm with my workouts, but she insisted that she wanted me to heal properly. So, I am being a good patient...until tomorrow.

E- I love the slogan you picked, and as I think about the work I have ahead of me, I am wondering if you might need to back it of to "seven months ago...". I think that the most fitting for me personally is, "This is my race pace" and I just love, "If I'm still cute, I'm not running hard enough." If y'all do t-shirts, I am in and my vote goes to pink, just because.

V-Purely for selfish reasons, I say you run the Outer Banks. I may be able to round up a few ladies and we could come be your cheering section, plus it gives me an excuse to go to the beach.

Angie- You had better be running!!! No excuses, you are participating in this race!

Speaking of the race, I am pretty sure that I reserved the room for Friday night. Is everyone else planning to fly in then also? I have a question for those of you more familiar with DC, is it possible to take the metro from Reagan to the hotel, and if so, would a person need to switch lines somewhere? I am just not sure where the hotel is. I was also thinking that maybe for any others who are flying in, we could plan to arrive around the same time, wait on each other and travel to the hotel together. I haven't purchased my ticket yet, so let me know what you think.

Christy,
So happy to hear from you. Sorry about the moles, but I am sure you will be back to speed in no time.

I reserved a room for Friday - Sunday night. I am not sure if I will fly in or drive (I absolutely hate to fly). The metro line has a stop directly under the hotel. I don't know if you need to transfer lines. The hotel also offers a free shuttle from Reagan. My plan is to be there by mid to late afternoon in plenty of time for dinner.

Anytime you need some beach time, come on up. I have more water around me these days than I have had since I was a kid. There is even a beach on the Naval Base (25 minutes) that is free, not crowded, with lifeguards and refreshments near by.
