It is damn hot here as well. We are finally in the house after 2+ weeks of hotel living (minus the four days we spent at my parent's house on Lake Gaston). I managed to log 20 miles last week, but wouldn't you know, just as we are preparing for movers, I get that tell tale sign of a sore throat that always predicates a cold. Ironic that Pete fought his way through one as we were working out way out of a house, and I am fighting this one as we are moving in. So much for my milage this week.
E, like Rachel, I have opinions that might be worthwhile. By the way, I could ditto much of what she contributed.
Ipod: I can't seem to get the arm thing to work for me. The band tends to rub against my lats, causing great rash. I wear it with the cord treaded through my sports bra, under my shirt/tank and down to my waist with any excess wrapped under the clip.
I think those running skirts are too cute for words. I don't have one...yet, but I am not sure if they are really functional to run in. I think they would bunch up high, like Rachel said, to allow for your legs to tun over. Maybe for a shorter run, when you need to run errands afterwards. let me know if you get one, cause I have really contemplated.
I am totally with Rachel on this one...BodyGlide! Rash happens! I get it most where my tricep meets my lats and it stings like crazy especially in my bath! BodyGlide is not sticky or greasy like vaseline and you can use it everywhere (like on your feet for blisters). It comes in a stick like deoderant. I also apply it along that strip under the front of my sports bra, just under my boobs.
I can't help you with the balance thing, clearly I am unbalanced. I can tell you that I work each set of muscles equally and to exhaustion. I tend to alternate during the workout so that each muscle(s) gets a fair turn. For example: If I am working bi's and tri's, I would do my pull-ups first followed by tri-cep extentions. Then, bi-cep curls with tri-cep dips and so forth. I found that if I worked my bi-ceps to completion and then worked tri-ceps, the tri-ceps didn't get the best workout. This way, each one gets a mini break and a moment to recover as I alternate lifts.
Hope that helps. Only 3 months before I get to see you guys.

Hope you don't get sick. Let me find some wood to knock on before I say this, but I haven't been sick since long before I started running. I can't imagine it's fun trying to run through a cold.
I wear my iPod the same way as you and I think I'll stick to it. Although I don't really have lats that it could rub against, I don't think I'll take my chances. I like putting the cord under my bra too so it takes the tension off the earbuds and they don't fall out.
I'll look for BodyGlide. You're right--that rash is on fire when water hits it!
My thing with the muscles is when I started lifting, I could only lift (I'm about to embarrass myself here) 10 lbs on the bicep curl and 8 lbs with triceps, and not very many times. I continued to get stronger, equally, which meant I could still do bicep curls with more weight than I could a tricep extension. So I kind of paused on increasing the weight on my biceps to let my triceps catch up. They have now and I've built up to 3 sets of 10-12 reps with 12 lbs for both muscle groups. But I wondered if naturally they shouldn't be lifting the same amount of weight. Like, one's not meant to be as strong as the other. Did I just confuse everyone with this paragraph? :) I don't think it's an issue of getting hurt since I lift so little (my son told me my arms were "fluffy" today!). I'm just curious.
Thanks for all the help!
