I am! I love it too. I keep telling the boys "see you guys can grow up to do these things too".
Sad to think I haven't watched an Olympic Summer Games with my husband....ever! He's always deployed when they're on.
One of my favorite memories is the 1996 summer games. We had just arrived at CGSC (ILE) and we were in Hoge Barracks waiting to get into our house. We only had Ian at that point and we had two bedrooms, a small kitchen and a bath. Not bad for our small family. We got there a bit early because I started work at the Federal Pen just outside the gate before classes started. Anyway, I still remember climbing into our bed every evening to watch the games. It was a great lull before classes started, before we actually lived somewhere, before Ian started kindergarten, before we had any friends...just us counting on each other. It was also the year of the fabulous gymnastic team. Hard to forget. Speaking of which, gymnastics medal rounds tonight. Gotta go!
